Rs 4347.67 crore to be spent on various schemes in J
Srinagar, Sep 19 (UNI) About Rs 4347.67 crore have been earmarked for implementation of various schemes in Jammu and Kashmir during the current financial year, an official spokesman said today.
He said this was stated at a high-level meeting called here to review the functioning of the planning and development departments.
The meeting, chaired by Planning, Finance, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tariq Hamid Karra, informed that excluding the reconstruction plan of Rs 847.67 crore, the normal plan ceiling was Rs 3500 crore.
Out of Rs 3,500 crore, about Rs 1,363 crore was under the district plan and the rest of the amount under the state sector.
Rs 30 crore were provided for construction of excise complex at Jammu and an additional Rs 10 crore for developing of Zannana and Children parks at district headquarters.
It was informed that repair and renovation of micro power projects were now proposed to be funded by the Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources (NMES) at 90:10 basis.
About Rs 33 crore have been kept in the state plan for the infrastructural development of backward pockets of districts including Doda, Kupwara, Anantnag and Baramulla. Against the reserve of Rs 140 crore, an additionally of about Rs 134 crore have been earmarked for various works of urgent nature.
The meeting was told that Rs 35 crore were given for construction of 14 degree colleges in various tehsil headquarters for which an amount of Rs 12.25 crore had been incurred, also nine Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) were being constructed at a cost of Rs 30.60 crore of which Rs 8.37 crore have been spent so far.
As many as 6817 anganwari centres had been approved in the re-construction plan. In addition, under the earlier employment package, 1500 anganwari centres were also sanctioned for which 6367 workers and 4630 helpers had been engaged.
Rs 120 crore were provided for upgradation of the Medical College in Jammu, 119 model villages being developed for which Rs 142.80 crore would be utilised in children parks, shops for unemployed youth, lanes, drains, community information centres and common facility centres.
It was also informed that 1000 micro hydel electric projects were also being constructed. Out of these, 300 were being built under Operation Sadbhavna, 265 under Border Area Development Programme and 435 under MNES.
