India's first Gems

Mumbai, Sept 19 (UNI) Union Textile Minister Kamalnath today launched India's first and largest jewellery festival 'Lucky Lakshmi here.

At the launch of the festival organised by All India Gems&Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF), Mr Kamalnath said, ''As India is developing, it's retail market is also increasing.'' He also said India has immense talent in the field of art and craft which is the base of gems and jewellery and is one the highest exports in India.

The Lucky Lakshmi festival will be celebrated all across the country from September 23 to November 6 during which buyers will get the opportunity to win exciting gifts and prizes worth crores of rupees from the participating outlets at the Lucky Lakshmi Festival.

Ashok Minawala, Vice Chairman (GJF) said, ''The main objective of this festival is that higher spending should go towards jewellery.'' UNI JM KU NV2159
