In Cable to get live feed from Zee; Mumbai fans to see live cricket

Mumbai, Sep 19 (UNI) Fans in the city would finally be able to see live cricket match - the DLF Cup tourney in Malaysia, as the TDSAT tribunal today asked Zee Sports, the TV rights holder for the tourney to restore live feed to In Cable.

Zee Turner, the distributing company of Zee Sports had cut of the live feed to a few Multi System Operators (MSOs) including In Cable after they refused to sign the subscription agreement with the channel which became a pay channel in June 2005.

The tribunal which gave it's ruling in Delhi today also asked In Cable to sign the new subscription agreement with Zee Turner by October 10.

Zee Turner CEO Arun Poddar, speaking to UNI over phone from Delhi said that they were satisfied with the ruling as atleast it has paved the way for the signing of the subscription agreement by October 10.

When asked about the fears of In Cable going back on their word once the tri-series gets over by September 24, he said that the we had voiced the same fears to the tribunal and our fears were acknowleged.

If In Cable does not sign the agreement by October 10, then the tribunal would see that we get our just dues, he added.

In Cable had gone to the tribunal after Zee Turner raised their subscription amount just before the DLF Cup tri-nation series featuring India, Australia and West Indies. Zee Sports has bought the telecast rights from the Indian cricket board for cricket matches to be played by India in offshore venues over the next five years.
