Councillor's nephew shot at in Rajouri Garden

New Delhi, Sept 19 (UNI) Thirty-year-old nephew of a Councillor was shot at in the Rajouri Garden area of West Delhi following a brawl.

Deepak Maggu, nephew of Councillor Sumiti Maggu, was shot at in his right arm by a 'bad character' of the area Chasmpal alias Cheema (35) when he tried to intervene in a fight between two persons, according to the police.

Sources said Cheema shot at Deepak when he tried to prevent him from hitting the man he was fighting with.

The incident took place at Sudesh Marg in Rajouri Garden at about 1045 hrs yesterday when Deepak, with his friend Vijay, was on his way to have dinner at a closeby restaurant.

Deepak was rushed to a private clinic where he was stated to be out of danger.
