Chinese investors keen to pump money in MP: Gaur

Bhopal, Sep 19 (UNI) Chinese investors are keen on pumping money in handicrafts, herbal products and other sectors in Madhya Pradesh, Commerce and Industries Minister Babulal Gaur has said.

Mr Gaur visited China for taking part in 'Made in India' show organised there by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in cooperation with Indian embassy and China Council for Promotion of International trade recently.

Mr Gaur told UNI that it was a great opportunity for the state's industrialists to showcase their products at the exhibition.

Besides China, Bahrain investors had shown interest to invest in the state. Detailed discussion was carried out in this regard during investors meeting in New Delhi recently.

China and Bahrain had been invited to participate in the 'Global Investors Meet' to be organised here next year with FICCI's cooperation.

The Minister said he had told Chinese and Bahrain investors that he hoped to bring about a revolution in agriculture, infrastructure and other sectors in the state with their cooperation.

Pointing out that favourable industrial policy had fetched Rs 21 billion dollar investment in the state, he said investment were received in power, road, petrochemicals, textiles, auto parts, pharmaceuticals and food processing industries.

Describing Madhya Pradesh as ''Hridaya Pradesh'', Mr Gaur said the state was connected to other states with rail, road and air.

Besides, fibre optic cables meant for telecommunication for main cities in the country crossed from Madhya Pradesh.

Possibilities of competitive export had increased in Madhya Pradesh in view of SEZs coming into existence, while IT, food and jewellery parks were being set up, he added.
