Tribal leader warns of agitation if ban on Coca Cola lifted
Palakkad, Sep 18 (UNI) Mayilamma, leader of the agitation against the Coca-Cola plant at Plachimada in the district, today said her four-year-long struggle against the soft drink major was called off following the Kerala Government's decision to ban the production and sale of Coca-Cola in the state.
The struggle would be resumed if the ban was lifted, she told reporters here.
Mayilamma described as 'baseless' allegations raised against her by Cola Virudha Samithi Leader Vilayodi Vengugopal that she called off the agitation to join the CPI(M).
She said the other two organisations still continued the agitation for ''personal benefits.'' Mayilamma urged the government to provide financial assistance to the people who were affected due to the over exploitation of ground water by the Cola Plant.
