Three of a family among 5 murdered in Jammu

Jammu, Sep 18 (UNI) Three members of a business family, their servant and a driver, were brutally murdered by some unidentified assailants here at posh Trikuta Nagar colony last night, police said today.

The victims included one Rajinder Chopra alias Raju(45), his wife Madhu(40), daughter Saloni alias Cheena(17), servant Ramu(18), and driver Jagan, sources told UNI.

The incident had occurred in Trikuta Nagar sector 3 around 2200 hrs yesterday.

''It seems that the incident occurred before dinner as the cooked food was still lying in the kitchen'' sources added.

The assassins had tied the hands of victims and put gagged their mouths before killing them with sharp-edged weapons, sources said.

''we are still investigating the case'' senior superintendent of police, Mukesh Singh said while confirming the incident.

After committing the crime the assailants also took away the four-wheeler from the house.

Cause behind the killings is yet to be ascertained, the SSP said.
