Royal Orchid Grp takes over KRS Hotel in Mysore

Bangalore, Sept 18: The Royal Orchid Group recently entered into a joint venture with Jungle Lodges and Resorts Ltd of the Karnataka Government to manage the Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) Hotel, which has now been rechristened Royal Orchid Brindavan.

The property had been leased out to Royal Orchid Group. The hotel, which remained closed for seven years, was currently being restored and renovated by the Royal Orchid Group and operations were scheduled to start shortly.

Royal Orchid Group Chairman and Managing Director Chender Baljee said in a release here that ''We will convert KRS Hotel into an exclusive 25-room property with all five-star facilities. This is our second investment in Mysore and we see great potential here. We will continue to acquire and lease out properties in tier II cities and towns as part of our focus and growth strategy. With booming business and infrastructure development in Mysore, the need for business hotels continues to be on the rise.'' Spread across 1.5 acres and located around 15 km from the city, Royal Orchid Brindavan would have a spa, conference room, health club and swimming pool, among other facilities. It was ideal for business events or weekend getaways from neighbouring cities. The property was a splendid building on a ridge, which runs at right angles to the dam, commanding a breath-taking view.
