RJD MP Sadhu Yadav yet to come over his troubles

Patna, Sep 18 (UNI) RJD MP Aniruddh Prasad Yadav alias Sadhu Yadav could not get respite from the court as the lower court rejected his anticipatory bail application in flood relief scam while the Patna High Court sought details of the progress and status of the criminal cases pending against him.

The special Judge of the Vigilance court Ramnivas Prasad heard both the defence and prosecution before turning down the bail petition of the RJD MP in connection with the flood relief scam.

As per the charges, Mr Yadav, abusing his position, fradulently got the ownership of a vehicle transfered in his name in connivance with the officials of District Transport Office in Patna during 2004-2006.

Later Mr Yadav sold the vehicle to the kingpin of the flood relief scam Santosh Kumar and funds were transferred in his bank account from the account of Mr Kumar.

The said vehicle was registered in the name of one Sumit Ranjan Jena in Delhi and the fund transferred in the account of Mr Yadav was of the multi-crore flood relief scam.

Meanwhile, the Patna High Court where the hearing on the anticipatory bail application of Mr Yadav, in connection with another criminal case related with tampering the elections of Block Pramukh in Gopalganj district on June 29 this year remained inconclusive.

A single member bench comprising justice Navin Sinha directed the state DGP to file an affidavit by September 25 with the details of the criminal cases in which the MP had been either declared absconder or wanted or chargesheeted.

The court also sought to know the actions taken against the police personnel accountable for the delay in the investigations of the cases involving Sadhu Yadav.

Earlier the state government, through an affidavit, admitted that eight criminals cases were pending against Mr Yadav of which two were by the vigilance and six had been filed against Mr Yadav in different police stations of Gopalganj districts while some of the criminal cases were even pending since 1996.

In some of the cases the MP had been declared either absconder or had been chargesheeted or was wanted by the police.
