Pieces of glass comes out of a girl's forehead
Kathmandu, Sep 18 (UNI) The mystery behind the pieces of glass emerging out of a girl's forehead in western Nepal has been a challenge to the medical practitioners, local media reports here today.
''Some 200 glass pieces measuring 2 to 2.5 inches long have been coming out from the temple of 12-year-old Sarita Bista since January,'' state run The Rising Nepal said.
Despite several studies made at the local level, the reason behind this still remains a mystery it said.
A blood test and CT-Scan in Nepalgunj and Lucknow, India also could not find any disorders in the girl, the paper quoted a teacher of the School as saying.
Bista, a student of grade 5 in Trinity English Boarding School Tikapur generated such pieces of glass when she was at school.
The girl's mother, Dhansara informed that such pieces were first in last January.
We did not reveal to others on her family's request though the teachers came to know of it four months ago, a teacher of the school is quoted as saying.
Although she is in physically and mentally normal state, such pieces used to appear whenever she fainted, but later started happening otherwise also , informed her mother.
The wound quickly heals though there is slight bleeding when the glass pieces come out. The family source said that no anti-biotic has been used to heal the wound.
Meanwhile, citing poor financial status, Bista's parents have expressed their inability to continue with further examination on their child's mysterious illness and have appealed to the House of Representatives for cooperation in this regard.
