Pankaj, Shikha among 16 sports personalities felicitated

Bangalore, Sep 18 (UNI) Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna awardee Pankaj Advani (cue sports) and Arjuna awardee Shikha Tandon (swimming) are among the top sports personalities felicitated by the Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College as part of its 'Achievers' Meet' here today.

Speaking on behalf of the achievers, Pankaj said ''The basic achievement in life is to have a focused vision and work towards it.

Anything can be achieved if we believe in our work and oneself and do it sincerely.'' The meet was held to recognise the achievement of its students in various sports disciplines at the national and international level.

Jain Group of Institutions Chairman R Chenraj Jain presented Pankaj with a cheque for Rs 25,000 and Shikha a cheque for Rs 15,000 in appreciation of their achievements.

Other sportspersons felicitated were Robin Uthappa (cricket), G M Hariprasad (hockey), Rehan Pooncha (swimming), J P Arjun (swimming), Rohith Havaldar (swimming), Sonam Deep Kaur (basketball) R Kaushal (basketball), Karuna Jain (cricket), Gaurav Dhiman (cricket), Arjun Gautham (tennis), N Kiran (tennis), Asha Nada Kumar (tennis), Ganesh Sathish (cricket) and Abantika Deka (badminton).
