Mobile teams fighting seasonal diseases, malaria in Rajasthan
Jaipur, Sep 18 (UNI) After the devastating floods, it is the turn of diseases making life miserable for people in Rajasthan's 12 flood affected districts.
Over the last one week, 1.92 lakh petients have undergone treatment for water-borne and seasonal diseases. A total of 81601 people complained of fever in the last one week of which 1047 cases were dignosed of malaria.
Principal Secretary, Medical and Health department, Sudhir Bhargava informed that the department had launched an intensive compaign, deploying 360 mobile units to identify malaria patients and providing treatment on the spot.
He informed that mobile units had fanned out in 2469 villages of the 12 flood-affected districts. The teams were touring nearly 544 villages everyday. These teams had been directed to ensure cent percent surveillance by testing blood samples of people who complained of fever. Over 1.92 lakh people had been treated in the last one week in the affected areas, he said.
