Jeev slips, Randhawa, Kapur too slide in golf rankings

New Delhi, Sep 18 (UNI) A less-than-impressive tied 14th finish at Ana Open in Japan saw Jeev Milkha Singh slipping a rung down to 144th even as he remained the highest placed Indian golfer in the latest World Golf Rankings issued today.

The UBS Asian Tour Order of Merit leader has 1.16 points in his kitty and is ranked fifth among the Asian players.

Fellow Indians fared even worse owing to an indifferent week and Jyoti Randhawa (1.07) dropped down 12 places to 158 while Shiv Kapur (.95) slipped eight rungs down the ladder to 172nd spot.

Kapur and Gaurav Ghei missed the plot towards the end in Kuala Lumpur as they failed to qualify for the World Cup to be played in Barbados.

Arjun Atwal (0.77), who's misery just refuses to end in PGA Tour, dropped eight places to 221 after he withdrew midway in the second round of the 84 Lumber Classic.

Meanwhile, Phil Mickelson regained his second spot from fellow American Jim Furyk even as Tiger Woods further cemented his place at the top. Tiger (22.30) enjoys a whopping 12.53 average point lead over Mickelson.
