Hyundai plans to invest Rs 3220 crore in T N plant
Chennai, Sep 18 (UNI) Auto major Hyundai Motor Company has plans to invest Rs 3220 crore in its plant in Tamil Nadu, its Chairman and CEO Chung Mong Koo told Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today.
Mr Koo, who called on the Chief Minister sought the state government's continued support to the new investment plans, an official release here said.
Mr Karunanidhi, who expressed his happiness over the new investment plans, assured Mr Koo that the government would render all assistance and offer continued support, the release said.
Mr Koo told the Chief Minister that he was highly impressed with the skills of the workers in the Hyundai Motor India (HMI) and the cars manufactured by the workers in HMI were superior in quality and could compete with Volswagon and Mercedes in the European market, the release said.
Assuring Hyundai Motor India's (HMI) continued support for the local community of Tamil Nadu, Mr Koo asked for the support of the Tamil Nadu government in improving the state's infrastructure such as roads, railways and setting up off a new port facility exclusively for car exports, the release added.
