Govt to sympathetically treat those who sacrificed lives
Ranchi, Sep 18 (UNI) New Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today said his government would withdraw the pending cases against those involved in the Jharkhand movement agitation.
Mr Koda, in his first press conference after the swearing-in, said his government would 'sympathetically' treat the people who sacrificed their lives for creation of the new state.
However, he parried a direct question when asked if the government would deal with the accused in the Chirudih massacre in Jamtara district in 1975 in which supporters allegedly killed 11 people.Coal minister Sibu Soren is the main accused in the case.
Mr Koda said the nature of the case was different, hence his government would not make immediate comment on it adding relatives of the martyrs would be given financial assistance besides employment.
Prioritising his government's agenda, he referred to industrial policies of his government saying it would be a friendly industrial investment policy.
He ruled out that all the MoUs signed during his predecessor Arjun Munda government would be cancelled and assured that best of all would be incorporated.
'' We will try to give all best possible options to the people,'' he said.
He said 50 per cent of the blocks came under 5th schedule hence the government would try to give social security to them.
On health sector, Mr Koda said the government would try to reach out to rural sectors with urgency.
