Diseases claim 40 lives in Nagaland's Tamlu area
Kohima, Sep 18 (UNI) About 40 people, most of them children, have died due to malaria, typhoid and jaundice, at Tamlu area in the past three months in Nagaland's Longleng district.
According to a statement by District Congress Committee president Chingham Phom, the local people had informed about the deaths to the local administration and sought urgent medical assistance for many sick.
However, there was no immediate confirmation nor denial from the administration regarding the deaths.
Mr Phom has appealed to the Health and Family Welfare Department to immediately depute a special medical team in the affected area.
