Court rejects bail of suspended JD (U) MLA Sunil Pandey
Patna, Sept 18 (UNI) District and sessions judge Mandhakar Singh today rejected the anticipatory bail petition of suspended JD(U) MLA Narendra Kumar Pandey alias Sunil Pandey in connection with a criminal case.
As per the charges, Mr Pandey in May this year had demanded five per cent of the total contract as extortion from General Manager of a company, engaged in rural electrification, and had threatened him of eliminating physically in case the latter failed to pay the money.
The case was lodged at Buddha colony police station.
Earlier, several supporters of Mr Pandey had assembled before the official residence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with a demand to pave the way for their leader to surrender before him.
However, Mr Kumar suggested that the court was the appropriate place for Mr Pandey to surrender.
