Centre asked not to increase air fares: Achuthanandan
Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 18 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today said the government had urged the Centre not to increase the flight fares to Gulf countries from the state.
Replying to questions by M M Arif (CPM) and others, he said the government was continuously mounting pressure on the Centre in this regard.
Stating that he had submitted a memorandum to the Union Government in this regard during his recent visit to Delhi, Achuthanandan informed the House that the government had also urged the Centre to increase the frequency of flights to the state as well as to lower fares during holidays.
