Balmuchu sworn in as officiating Speaker of J'khand Assembly

Ranchi, Sep 18 (UNI) State Congress president Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu was tonight administered oath of office and secrecy as officiating Speaker by Governor Syed Sibtey Razi here.

The one-day-old Madhu Koda-led UPA government recommended Mr Balmuchu's name to the Governor after a Cabinet meeting held this evening.

The appointment was necessitated as Mr Inder Singh Namdhari resigned from the Speaker's post on September 14 following the fall of the Arjun Munda governemnt.

As the Deputy Speaker's post was also remaining vacant, the Governor was required to appoint an officiating Speaker.

The new Governemnt would seek vote of confidence on September 20.
