Viswakarma puja celebrated in Bengal to mark industrial rejuvination
Kolkata, Sept 17 (UNI) Viswakarma Puja was performed by millions of industrial workers throughout West Bengal today to celebrate the state's ongoing industrial rejuvination programmes.
Since Lord Viswakarma is prayed for industrial growth, all industrial units organised the puja with great enthusiasm by flying kites which is a distinct feature of this festival.
However,in several parts of the industrial zones of Howrah and Hooghly district where a large number of factories remained closed allegedly because of labour unrest for sometime, today's celebration failed to bring any new hope.
But for the ruling Left ministers, including Chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacherjee, the day was just like another busy working day with most of them remaining busy in participating in government programmes since morning.
