Taibu vows never to play for Zim, wants to be a South African
London, Sep 17 (UNI) Self-exiled former Zimbabwe captain Tatenda Taibu has vowed never to play for his country and plans to return to the international cricket as a Protea player.
Taibu, 23, will have to play in South Africa for four years in order to qualify for the national team by 2010. The diminutive wicketkeeper-batsman is likely to join either Nashua Cape Cobras or Fitendia Warriors.
''I will never return to the Zimbabwe side and I want to play Test cricket. South Africa is the best option,'' Taibu was quoted as saying 'The Times'.
Taibu has chosen to continue his career in South Africa rather than England, where qualification would take him longer.
