Pratapsinh Rane inaugurates biofertiliser factory in Bicholim
Panaji, Sep 17 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane today called for increased use of biofertilisers in a bid to maximize profits.
Inaugurating a biofertiliser factory belonging to the Cosme group of companies at Sarvana in north Goa's Bicholim taluka, the Chief Minister said that agroproducts produced through the use of organic farming were more in demand, due to health considerations.
The government, he said, was also trying its best to provide farmers with facilities for farming, including subsidies.
Speaking on the occasion, Bicholim legislator Ranesh Patnekar said the factory would not only help the farmers but reduce unemployment in the state.
Chairman of the company, Cosme Menezes and managing director, Mr Hegde were present on the occasion.
