New Delhi, Sep 17 (UNI) Fly with colours to the world of nature at Travancore Palace here this week with eminent artist Ms Parwati Jain as she takes you to a breathtaking abode of Mother Earth with her exhibition - 'The Rhythm of Nature'.
A recipient of the Kala Ratan Samman Award, this is Ms Jain's first solo exhibition in Delhi.
The exhibition was inaugurated yesterday by Ms Deepak Sandhu, Director General, Media and Communication, (Ministry of Information and Broadcasting), Ms Sushma Seth, actress and Mr Vijender Sharma, artist.
Synonymous to the theme of her exhibition is a collection of portraits designed in an exquisite blend of water and oil, to intriguing sculptures which narrarate wonderful stories of love, freedom and family bonding.
She personifies art with the majestic hues of observation and honesty which evoke conscience to the deeper issues of nature.
A housewife first and an artist by passion, Ms Jain derives inspiration from nature's elegance and a profound faith in God. Says she, " If we haven't created nature, then we have no right to destroy it".
She is of the view that the present natural calamities are the consequences of man's selfish tendencies to erode the environment.
Her paintings are an effort to bridge this great divide of human ignorance and to better appreciate our surroundings.
A fusion of rural India at the backdrop of enchanting orchids, gulmohars, pasteurs and waterbodies which reflect the majesty and richness of Mother Earth are brought alive in each of her paintings. She captures the breadth, depth, grandeur and elegance of nature with artistic ease.
"This nature, which is the evidence of our existence needs to be preserved", she says. " I only try to show through my paintings what I believe is God's most beautiful creation".
The exhibition is on from 16th September to 23rd September. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the paintings will be donated to the Gunjan Foundation.
