AIADMK urges Pondy CM to ensure PM stops autonomy for Jipmer

Pondicherry, Sep 17(UNI) Pondicherry AIADMK Secretary A Anbazhagan today urged the Chief Minister N Rangasamy to write to the Prime Minister to drop the move to grant Autonomous Status to the Jipmer Hospital here.

Talking to newspersons here, he said the territorial administration had objected to the setting up of Deemed Universities, adopted unanimous resolutions in the assembly and forwarded to the Centre. He wondered whether the State Government's view was sought when the Centre took the decision to grant Autonomous Status to Jipmer.

Mr Anbazhagan said the Jipmer employees were being threatened and the Communist parties had remained as silent spectators.

The autonomous idea was mootted by the Pattali Makkal Katchi(PMK) for self-benefit, and, if the present situation continues, it would lead to law and order problem in the Union Territory, he alleged.
