Pakistan naval patrol arrests 25 Indian fishermen
KARACHI, Sep 16 (Reuters) Pakistan arrested 25 Indian fishermen and impounded four boats today for entering its territorial waters in the Arabian sea, a Pakistani maritime official said.
The fishermen were arrested 50 km inside Pakistan's exclusive economic zone waters, said Maritime Security Agency official Atiq-ur-Rehman.
''One of our ships on a routine patrol spotted them. There were several boats and they were warned repeatedly to leave the area. Those who didn't were arrested, he said.
Rehman said the arrested fishermen had been handed over to the police for further action.
