Muthulakshmi to move HC for stay on films on Veerappan
Chennai, Sep 16 (UNI) Muthulakshmi, widow of slain Forest brigand Veerappan, will move Madras High Court on Monday seeking a stay on the films being produced on her late husband.
Addressing a press conference here, she said she would also issue legal notices to the Directors of the film Madhu of Tamil Nadu, Ramesh of Karnataka and the famous Bollywood director Ram Gopal Verma.
The films on Veerappan are being produced separately in three languages.
''They have no rights to make a film on my husband, that too without getting our consent. Moreover, they claim that the story lines are ready, based on the discussions with senior STF officials involved in nab-Veerappan operations'', she said and added that they were planning to start the shooting after getting permission from the Karnataka and Tamil Nadu governments.
''What did they know about Veerappan. How can we allow some one sitting in Chennai, Bangalore or Mumbai to take the film without knowing the real incidents that had happened in Veerappan's life in the forests'', a fuming Muthulakshmi asked.
The films were aimed at portraying Veerappan as a criminal which would have a direct impact on the lives of his family and children.
''At a time when the affected people and my family and two daughters--one of whom was born in forest--are trying to come out of the trauma caused by the STF actions and lead a normal life, producing a film on Veerappan will only open past wounds'', she said.
''A wrong projection of my husband is bound to push us towards social boycott and affect the future of my innocent daughters'', she charged.
