Deshmukh revokes suspension of Ex-engineer
Mumbai, Sep 16 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today revoked the suspension of state power distribution company Mahavitaran Executive Engineer L M Borikar, who had cut the power supply of his official Nagpur residence 'Ramgiri'.
An official release said here today that the Mahavitaran had announced the suspension of Mr Borikar without conducting any inquiry.
Interestingly, Mr Deshmukh yesterday justified the suspension saying that the manner in which the senior engineer Mr Borikar had taken journalists to the Chief Minister's house and cut off electricity in their presence, was uncalled for.
Maharashtra BJP president Nitin Gadkari, who hails from Nagpur had also written a letter to Mr Deshmukh urging him to revoke the suspension and to felicitate the officer who did his duty honestly.
He denied that Mr Borikar took the journalists with him.
Meanwhile, the state government has sent Principal Secretary Jayraj Phatak to Nagpur this morning to inquire into the whole incident.
The official release also clarified that infact the power was cut of the residences of CM's staff who are having three houses and separate meter and not of the official residence of CM. He said the reports given in media that power was cut at 'Ramgiri' was not based on fact.
The release further blamed the officials of PWD department for not paying the power bills and Chief Minister asked the administration to inquire in this lethargy. The government also expressed surprise as how the senior officials of Mahavitaran were not aware about this power cut.
