Total foreign reserves decline by 1.320 bn
Mumbai, Sept 15: The total foreign reserves as on September 08 declined by US dollar 1.320 billion to USD 165.138 billion compared to 166.458 billion last week, according to the weekly statistical report presented by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), The foreign currency assets too, as on September 08 declined by USD 1.317 billion to USD 157.835 billion as compared to USD 159.152 billion last week.
Besides, maintaining the best international practice, India's reserve position in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as on Sep 08 declined by three million to 76.4 billion compared to the previous week's figure of USD 76.7 billion.
As on September 08 loans provided to the state governments stood at Rs 378 crore.
Total bank credit as on September 01 stood at Rs 15,92,628 crore.
Out of this, food credit was at Rs 36,529 crore and the non-food credit was at Rs 15,56,100 crore.
Besides, the outstandings that accrued out of the accommodation provided by the scheduled commercial banks to commercial sector in the form of bank credit and investment shares/debentures and bonds as on september 01 was Rs 88,799 crore. This figure is derived after deducting the March 31 figure of Rs 15,45,851 crore from the September 01 figure of Rs 16,34,650 crore.
