Belgaum Legislature session could be made joint session
Bangalore, Sep 15 (UNI) The Karnataka Government is seriously thinking of converting the four-day historic Legislature session, to be held in Belgaum from September 25, into a joint session as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the State's formation, Deputy Chief Minister M P Prakash said today.
Talking to reporters here, he said the Government would take a final decision in this regard tomorrow, depending on the availability of logistics support. The Belgaum Deputy Commissioner had been asked to submit a report on the facilities available for holding the joint session, he added.
Mr Prakash said the Government was planning to hold discussions and programmes on Kannada and its culture at the joint session.
Revenue Department Principal Secretary S M Jamdar had been appointed a Special Officer to monitor the preparations for the session, to be conducted by spending about Rs 2.5 crore, he added.
