UP to emulate Centre over 6th pay commission implementation
Lucknow, Sep 14 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government today categorically stated it would implement the sixth pay commission report for state employees, once it is enforced by the Centre.
''There is no question of denying the rights of employees and the state government has done it in the past too,'' said Minister of State for Finance Sahid Manjoor here.
Replying to a question in the state assembly here, Mr Manjoor said the government was also considering hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) as done by the Centre recently.
He asserted it would take about 18 months for the sixth pay commission to give its report to the centre and UP will do the needful after the centre implements it.
However, few members raised questions on disparity on the enforcement of 50 per cent DA merger by the state government.
The minister said the state employees were getting central governemnt payscale since 1986.
At present, there are about 15 lakh state employees in the state including teachers.
