Kolkata, Sep 14 (UNI) CPI(M) state secretary Biman Bose today accused the AITC of adopting double standard regarding its stand on industrialisation and said the party has no 'ideology.' ''The Trinamool Congress is maintaining double standard policy.

Its chief Mamata Banerjee is campaigning in favour of the industry to win the byelection and opposing at the same time where election was not held,'' Mr Bose told mediaperson here today.

He said that Ms Banerjee ''does not have a place in politics as she does not know the subject properly. If she knew it, she would have worked for the interest of the state.'' Meanwhile, the state secretary said the party has appealed to the Election Commssion to conduct the polls in free and fair manner on September 16.

Mr Bose said the byelection to the Katwa, Malda, Bongaon and Purulia seats was necessary following the death of CPI(M) MP Mehboob Zahedi, Malda Congress MP A B A Ghani Khan Chowdhury, AITC MLA of Bongaon Bhupen Seth and resignation of Forward Bloc MP of Purulia Bir Singh Mahato.
