SWR introduces trains on new Bagalkot-Bijapur broad gauge

Hubli, Sep 14 (UNI) The South Western Railway (SWR) has decided to extend two pairs of trains from Bijapur to Bagalkot with effect from September 16, following completion of the gauge conversion work between the two sections of Hubli division.

A SWR release here today said the tri-weekly Basava Express (train No.6513/6514) running between Yesvantpur and Bijapur and passenger train (No.385/386) running daily between Solapur and Bijapur would be extended till Bagalkot.

Accordingly, the Basava Express would leave Yesvantpur on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1645 hrs and arrive at Bagalkot at 1230 hrs the next day. In the return direction, the train would depart from Bagalkot at 1335 hrs on Mondays, Thrusdays and Saturdays and arrive at Yesvantpur at 1000 hrs next day.

The Solapur-Bagalkot daily passenger would leave Solapur at 2025 hrs and reach Bagalkot at 0140 hrs. In the return direction, the train would depart from Bagalkot at 0405 hrs and reach Solapur at 0930 hrs, the release added.
