Speed up peace process, JKDF chief to Singh and Musharraf

Srinagar, Sep 14 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum (JKDF) President Pandit Bhushan Bazazz today urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Pakistan President Parvez Musharraf to hold talks during the NAM summit in Havana.

He appealed to them to use the opportunity to accelerate peace talks and resolve the Kashmir issue.

''We appeal to both leaders to speed up the process of talks to find a permanent solution to the Kashmir issue keeping the changing world scenario in view and bury their political differences,'' he said in a statement.

Pandit Bazaz said delaying the peace process will not put an end to violence. ''It is better to speed up the process and help the people of the state to come out of the turmoil'', he said adding peace and stability in south Asia could not be restored without a sustainable solution of Kashmir issue in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people.
