Sonia's Rae Bareli tour from Sep 16

Lucknow, Sep 14 (UNI) Close on the heels of Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi touring his parliamentary constituency, Congress president and his mother Sonia Gandhi will undertake a similar two-day visit to her Rae Bareli Lok Sabha segment from September 16.

Party sources said here today Ms Gandhi would participate in several programmes in Rae Bareli during her visit.

On the first day of her tour, she would unveil the statue of freedom fighter Late Munshi Chandrika Prasad 'Guruji' at Bachhrawan.

Later, she would offer floral tributes at the Shahid Smarak in Munshiganj.

A meeting with district-level monitoring and review committee at the district collectorate also figures in her itinerary on September 16.

In the evening, the Congress chief will interact with party leaders, office bearers and grassroots workers.

On September 17, Ms Gandhi would meet her electorate and youth wing leaders at the NTPC guest house.

Later, the local MP will hit the rough trail in Rae Bareli for the first hand experience of development in her constituency.

Yesterday, Rahul had wrapped up his visit of Amethi -- cutting the tour short by a day due to a minor muscular injury.
