Seven sentenced to life in murder case
New Delhi, Sep 14 (UNI) A city court today sentenced seven members of a family to life imprisonment in a nearly ten year-old murder case.
Additional Sessions Judge R K Gupta also imposed a fine of Rs 2000 each on them.
The seven -- all from Ishapur village near Najafgarh -- were charged with having axed to death a distant family member Sirke Ram, on February 4, 1987, following a land dispute.
Of the nine accused, Dharaj and Jai Singh died during the trial.
Those sentenced to life imprisonment were: Deedar Singh, Chotu Ram, Dharam Singh, Vijender, Rohtas, Randhir and Jagat.
