Scholar charged with molestation returns home
Hyderabad, Sep 14 (UNI) Noted Vedic Scholar and linguist Nagaphani Sarma, who was charged with attempting to molest a woman in Los Angeles in the United States, has returned here.
Mediapersons, who rushed to his 'Sarada Vidya Peetham', were however, disappointed as the scholar refused to talk to them. He wrote down on a paper that he was observing silence.
When they repeatedly questioned him about the charge against him, he wrote down on the paper again 'time would answer every question'.
For all other questions thrown at him, he merely smiled.
Sarma, who was the chairperson of the Official Language Commission during the erstwhile Telugu Desam government, had recently visited the United States to participate in the 'Telugu Association' meeting. A Telugu family settled in Los Angels had played host to him and a woman in the family alleged that he tried to molest her.
The police there had registered a case. But when he was formally charged, Sarma left the US, reports earlier said.
