Rupee gains six paise to close at Rs 46.14/USD

Mumbai, Sep 14 (UNI) Indian Rupee today gained six paise to close up at Rs 46.14 per US Dollar compared to the previous close of Rs 46.19 per USD, as yen strengthened against Dollar and prepped Rupee to open strong and then maintain the momentum there on, a money market trader said.

Earlier, Rupee opened at Rs 46.08/10 per US Dollar and in the mid- morning session traded at 46.14/15/US Dollar.

RBI today fixed the Reference Rate at Rs 46.15/US Dollar compared to the previous rate of 46.22 per US Dollar on Wednesday.

The six month forward premia was fixed at 1.38 per cent and the one year forward premia was fixed at 1.36 per cent.

The Rupee performance against other currencies also improved against Euro, Rupee closed at Rs 58.62, against Pound Sterling it closed at Rs 86.90 and against Yen it closed at Rs 39.20.
