Bangalore, Sep 14 (UNI) The Karnataka High Court today adjourned till September 18, hearing on a writ petition filed by suspended BJP MLC Janardhana Reddy, seeking a CBI Inquiry into the Rs 150 crore bribery allegation against Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for allowing illegal mining in Bellary.

Justice B G Ramesh posted the case to consider the application of the petitioner to implead the State Government as a respondent and another application seeking permission to produce some more documents in support of his petition.

Yesterday, the court heard in part hearing on the arguments regarding the maintainability of the writ petition when alternate remedies were available to the petitioner. Without exhausting the same, he could not directly approach the High Court with a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution.

Mr Reddy had kicked up a political storm in the State when he levelled the allegation against the Chief Minister, Forests Minister C Chennigappa and Home Minister M P Prakash. He had claimed that he possessed VCDs to substantiate his charge.
