Rajasthan resident jailed for smuggling

Neemuch(MP), Sep 14 (UNI) A local court has convicted Durgalal Khatik, a resident of Kalyanpura in Rajasthan's Chittorgarh district, under the NDPS Act and sentenced him 10 years imprisonement and a fine of Rs one lakh for smuggling poppy husk.

Special Court Judge Anupam Shrivastava delivered the judgement on Tuesday.

Durgalal was caught smuggling poppy husk in a truck in Nayagaon police outpost area on September 4, 2000. His two accomplices escaped the police dragnet.
