Punjab Cabinet gives nod to MLAs pension bill
Chandigarh, Sep 14 (UNI) The Punjab Cabinet today gave its approval to introduce the Bill seeking amendment in Section three of the Punjab State Legislature ( Pension&Medical Facilities Regulation) Act, with regard to fixation of pension of MLAs/Ex-MLAs.
The Bill proposes that a person who remains a member of the Vidhan Sabha for more than one term, would get a basic pension of Rs 5000 per month for the first term and an additional amount of Rs 2500 per month for each of the subsequent terms.
However, the Bill makes it clear that in case an MLA either resigns from the Vidhan Sabha or is disqualified, he/she will not be entitled to get any pension/addional pension.
