Jabalpur, Sept 14: Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and 8 others have a narrow escape as both tyres of a chartered plane carrying them burst during emergency landing following a technical snag in one of the two engines at Dumna airport here today.

There was no loss of life or property in the incident nor any damage to the runway. The aircraft was coming from Delhi.

City Superintendent of Police Amrendra Singh said during emergency landing at 0920 hours, both tyres burst, but the pilot managed to avert an accident.

Former State Advocate General Vivek Tankha was also aboard the plane.

Both Mr Prasad and Mr Tankha were scheduled to appear before the M P High Court today during the hearing on a petition challenging the admission test (DEMAT) relating to the state's private medical and dental medical colleges.
