Mumbai, Sep 14 (UNI) A City Court today directed the defendants of 'Omakara' film to file their reply by September 22 to a plea filed by a small time actor seeking ban of the film in view of vulgar and abusive language.

Judge A T Vaidya directed the defendants to file their reply on this plea by September 22 for its final disposal.

Earlier, on August 29, the same court had rejected an immediate ban of screening of the film on the grounds of insufficient material.

The matter had come before the City Civil court following a petition filed by a small time actor, Nasim Khan, seeking a ban on film 'Omkara' saying it contained over 45 minutes of vulgar and abusive language.

In his application, he said the word 'OM' was held in high regard irrespective of any religion and the film, immediately after the national anthem it starts with vulgar and abusive language which insults the very set up of our nation.

Khan, an actor and social worker, sought the court's direction to ban further screening of the film and prosecute Kumar Mangat, producer of the film, Devgan films, Director Vishal Bharadwaj, Censor Board, the Union and the Maharashtra government.

'Omkara', staring Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Nasserudin Shan among others has been screened across the country for the last one month.
