Mumbai slump to 167-8, Hyd score 262 as bowlers dominate

Hyderabad, Sep 14 (UNI) Mumbai slumped to 167 for eight in 71.3 overs against Chemplast while Hyderabad were 262 all out against India Cements in the semi finals of the All India Moin-ud- Dowla Gold Cup Cricket tournament here today.

The Chemplast bowlers put the brakes on Mumbai batsmen with Satish, Tinu Yohanan and Kulamani Parida sharing seven wickets between them. Mumbai recovered through Ashok Kadam (23, three fours), Wasim Jaffer (21, three fours), Rohit Sharma (46, four fours,one six) and Prasanth Naik (20,three fours)after electing to bat, winning the toss.

In the other match, hosts Hyderabad, put in to bat made 262 all out off 89.3 overs. Hyderabad, playing without skipper V V S Laxman, down with a hamstring were bailed out by junior India cricketer A T Rayudu (46, 124 balls, four fours,one six, N Arjun Yadav (46, 138 mts, 111 balls, six fours), Anirudh Singh (34, 95 balls,three fours), P S S Bharath (31 n o, 34 balls, three fours) and T Suman (26, six fours).

Amarpreet Singh (4/58) and Suresh Kumar (3/39) were the most successful bowlers for India Cements.
