Mizoram police to motivate civil society to prevent crime
Aizawl, Sep 14 (UNI) With a spurt in criminal incidents in Mizoram, police held a review meeting here today resolving to motivate social bodies against crimes.
DIG (Range) Lalsangzuala told newsmen here that though the state does not have crime record like other NE states but the attrocities against women and anti-social activities are on rise.
''Most of the crimes are not being reported properly and since customary laws are existing we can not proceed for judicial action in most of the cases but can motivate the people at large and social organisations to combat the menaces,'' said Lalsangzuala.
All the Superintendents of Police along with the Sub-divisional Police officers decided to formulate a comprehensive strategy against the crimes in the review meeting.
The meeting also discussed the smooth co-ordination among different para-military forces and civil society.
