Mirwaiz today left for America to participate in OIC meeting

Srinagar, Sep 14 (UNI) Chairman of the moderate Hurriyat Conference (Omar) Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq today left for United States to participate in the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) meeting.

Spokesman of the HC said that the Mirwaiz was invited by the secretary general of the Kashmir Rabta group to participate in the meeting of the OIC.

He said the Mirwaiz will raise the issue of Human Rights violations and put forward the view points of the people of Jammu and Kashmir before the OIC members.

''The HC chairman will stress the need for resolving the Kashmir issue through tripartite talks peacefully,'' he added.

He said Mirwaiz could not attend the Brussels conference last week because his passport was not extended.
