LUGI to focus on preparing marketing professionals for future

Chennai, Sept 14 (UNI) The Life Underwriters Guild of India (LUGI), a self-help organisation, promoted by life insurance marketing professionals, would focus on preparing the marketing professionals to face the challenges in future in its fourth annuanl convention, which begings here tomorrow.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr P Srinivasan, President, LUGI said "Face-off is to prepare and set the marketing professionals to challenge the future," would be the theme of the three-day conference to be addressed by eminent life insurance professionals from India and other South Asian countries.

About 400 professionals, who were members of LUGI expected to attend the convention, which would make them ready for future with a right product knowledge and with a right mind set that would help them to challenge the market place, he said. "The convention is focussed to develop the skills, knowledge and the right attitude," he added.

He said the convention would provide a platform to the professionals to learn and share from those who had excelled in this profession on self confidence, self discipline, self improvement and self-esteem.

Stating that financial services industry, especially the insurance business was throwing up enormous challenges, Mr Srinivasan said Life Insurance in India was still in a growing phase and there was a vast rural market still remains untapped.

LUGI, which presently had about 2,000 members, would increase it to 10,000 in the next five years, he said.
