'K'taka Govt changes reservation policy'

Udupi, Karnataka, Sep 14 (UNI) The Karnataka Government has effected some changes in its reservation policy based on the court verdict relating to the Andhra Pradesh Government's internal reservation, Mr Justice A J Sadashiva, Chairman of the Committee constituted to look into the implementation of benefits for the Scheduled Caste people, said today.

Receiving representations from SCs here, he said 'Adi Dravida' and 'Adi Karnataka' were not castes, but sub-castes which should be mentioned by people belonging to the group while making any representation.

The Committee would submit its report to the Government about the implementation of schemes meant for SCs after hearing complaints and grievances during his visit to all districts in the State, he added.
