Koda stakes claim to form new govt in J'khand
Ranchi, Sep 14 (UNI) The UPA led by Mr Madhu Koda, an Independent MLA, today staked claim to form the new government in Jharkhand, hours after Chief Minister Arjun Munda tendered his resignation without facing a floor test in the House.
Mr Amit Khare, Principal Secretary to the Governor, told UNI here that Mr Koda handed over a letter to Mr Syed Sibtey Razi, claiming the support of 41 MLAs. The letter of two other MLAs supporting him would be despatched soon to the Raj Bhavan.
The Governor, while accepting the letter, said he would scrutinise the same and act according to the Constitution.
The UPA delegation also comprised JMM president Sibu Soren, RJD president Lalu Prasad, Union minister Prem Chand Gupta, Congress MP Furkan Ansari and other senior leaders.
