Karnataka varsity to set up DNA lab
Dharwad, Sep 14 (UNI) The Karnataka University here will be setting up a DNA laboratory centre in its post-graduation division, incharge Vice-Chancellor A Murigeppa said.
Addressing a press conference here yesterday, he said the centre, to be set up at a cost of Rs three crore, would help find the reasons behind hereditary diseases of the people of North Karnataka region.
Dr Murigeppa said it was proposed to have central computerisation in the premises of the varsity, for which UGC would provide Rs 4.5 crore. Of the amount, Rs 1.62 crore had been released by the UGC.
