JL Morisson enters Rs 260 cr baby products market

Mumbai, Sept 14: J L Morison, a part of Rs seven billion Rasoi Group today announced its entry into the Baby products segment with the launch of 'Morisons Baby Dream'.

The products boast of natural extracts which are an aberration from the current paraffin based oils for babies and other products in the moisturizers, creams and soaps segment.

Launched initially in Mumbai, Pune and West Bengal the Morisons Baby Dreams has a market size of Rs 260 crore in this category, which also gives enough space to other players to enter the fray.

Speaking to newspersons at a media briefing Director of JLM Varunn Mody said, ''Many players tried to enter the baby product market, however we have done an extensive research and expect there is no competition currently in this Rs 260 crore market as of now.'' Adding to this, J L Morison Executive Director Bipin Vengsarkar said, ''Currently there is a need for natural ingredient based baby products in our country. To cater to this demand we decided to enter the baby oil, soap, moisturizers, nappies and cream segment. And to add a whole range to this section J.L. Morison also retails the feeding bottles, silicone nipples and teats.'' Added Mr Vengsarkar.
